We like parents to visit us before applying for the admission of their children. Please contact the school office for an appointment. We will arrange for a staff member to outline our philosophies and programmes, and walk you around the school. We admit children according to vacancies and age. In 2008 children born in 2003 are enrolled in Kindergarten, 2002 in Prep, 2001 in Grade 1 etc. Proof of birth date is required for admission into Kindergarten. Applications for admission are available at the school office. This service is provided by Malangenna. One of their carers picks our children up between 2:45 and 3:00 each school day. Malangenna is at 20 Valley Road and can be contacted on6424 4855.
We like parents and grandparents to attend our school assemblies. Please ask for this term's times.
We are required to monitor attendance and late arrivals. Please advise the school office by phone on the morning of absence. Late arrivals and early departures need to sign in at the office.
Our behaviour management policy is based on "AT MIANDETTA WE CARE FOR EACH OTHER AND OUR WORLD AND WE HELP EVERYONE LEARN". We expect all our children to accept responsibility for their attitudes and actions. We have seven single bells to signal the beginning and end of lessons and breaks 9:00, 10:45, 11:00, 12:30, 12:45, 1:15 and 2:45. Two bells are used to signify an inside day. Continuous bells may be used for the emergency evacuation of buildings.
Students who complete a parent permission form are able to ride their bikes to school. A bike rack is provided next to the car park. Kindergarten children often want to ride our scooters, tricycles and bicycles in their outside programme. They are required to bring and wear their helmet for this. Your children's pencils, pens, rulers, erasers, books etc. will be supplied by the school office or their class teachers when you pay the composite levy we charge for each enrolled child. At the beginning of the school year a base pack is issued. During the year class teachers add to this and also replace pencils and pens as they wear out and books when they're full. Damaged and lost materials are not replaced.

We do not have a daily lunch service. Most children bring a packed lunch and eat it under the supervision of a teacher 12:30 – 12:45. A few go home for lunch at 12:30. Our class groupings vary from year to year. Each year we organize our classes according to the ratio of class teachers to enrolled children and the needs of each child. We welcome parent input during the process on the understanding placement is the professional responsibility of the teaching staff. When discussing and finalising your children's classes the teachers will consider such things as your views, each child's needs (eg friendships, relationships with other children, physical development, social skills, literacy and numeracy levels) and equity issues.

We strongly recommend you ensure your children know where your neighbourhood Safety Houses are. Homes display the sign on their letter boxes. Businesses like shops have them in their windows.
